AMERICA ON THE PRECIPICE OF FIRST AMENDMENT COLLAPSE / SCHUMER & HOLLYWOOD vs TUCKER CARLSON & THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
Vol. II | Issue. 151 | March 9, 2023
Even since Gutenberg invented the Printing Press in 1448, the official power of the State has done almost everything in its power to eliminate the transmission of information to its citizens, subjects, etc., and threaten its complete rule.
England, in the 18th Century, was considered to be the most liberal nation in the world. Yes, King George (gout and all) was sitting on the throne, but there were some checks and balances to his power that didn’t really exist anywhere else in the civilized world. There was Parliament, the legislative body elected by the King’s subjects, that could pass laws constraining the powers of the King. However, those powers were limited… England, under King George, had never allowed its Crown subjects to cross the threshold to freedom by allowing for anything close to the freedom of speech or expression if that meant criticizing the Crown. Simply put: If you used Gutenberg’s little device to criticize the King, you were guilty of treason, and if you criticized the Church of England it was blasphemy.
Both carried the same “off with your head” penalty. Their version of mercy for either of these offenses was whether your execution would be a simple off with your head death, or whether you would be tortured close to death before being drawn and quartered dragged through the streets until you finally reached a slow painful death. Not great choices, right?
Then came along this little thing called The American Revolution, through whose victory came The United States of America and ultimately its instrument of organic governance called The United States Constitution.
The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The First Amendment, more so than any other provision of the Constitution, was in and of itself revolutionary. It allowed every American to enjoy the right to freedom of speech and peaceable assembly, while officially taking the punishment for criticism of the government off the menu. At one point, the rights guaranteed under the First Amendment appeared to be the only thing that there was a collective consensus on between the Conservative and Liberal political factions in America.
The Left had always pretended that the rights guaranteed to every American under the First Amendment were sacred to them and that while "disagreeing with Conservative Americans on virtually every issue” they would "fight to the death" for their right to express themselves. That was when the Left, and certainly the "Far Left”, were fringe components of America’s political culture with little membership or following. As a fringe political force, with few takers, the American Communists, Socialists, etc. needed the collaboration of the majority to allow them an equal platform for their poisonous advocacies. But now the worm has turned… American Political Culture, and for that matter American Culture at large, has made a sharp LEFT turn.
Currently, the sick America-Hating Political Culture of the Left has invaded every American institution and become what amounts to a statist religion of its own. Accordingly, the Left now hates the First Amendment, and some of their most radical imbeciles have officially advocated for its abolition. In American 2023, the State Religion of the Left is not only being accepted and adopted by the usual and obvious Left-wing hate America Mongers but by many Statist Republicans who actually love the status quo.
A most recent example of the Political Class's contempt for the First Amendment was the condemnation of Tucker Carlson's video reveal of the January 6th events at the United States Capital. While there was little objective analysis regarding the accuracy of Carlson's video reveal, there was revulsion from both sides of the aisle for his having the temerity to post the videos. Republicans jumping on to the sickening Schumer call for censorship were: Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, GOP Senators John Thune, Mitt Romney, Kevin Cramer, Thom Tillis, Mike Rounds, and Chuck Grassley.
The fact that the harsh criticism was a total hominem against Carlson, rather than the challenge to its accuracy makes clear that America, through its increasingly corrupt elected representatives, is moving back to a future wherein freedom of expression and thought isn’t guaranteed by and through the First Amendment. If not zealously defended, it will either be eliminated in a de facto way or rendered meaningless through a lack of zealous advocacy and enforcement. Once upon a time in America, Politicians bowed and tipped their hats to the people who they were elected to serve, rather than the people tipping their hats to them as subjects of their ruler which they served.
In America 2023, the so-called January 6th Committee, with its Hollywood (literally) brand of editing, was supposed to serve as the official version of what happened at the Capitol on January 6th. As an American citizen, if you challenge that version and give voice to the idea that maybe the Hollywood rendition paid for by the January 6th Committee did not tell the real story, you may be found guilty of treason.
Is that the America we want for our Children?… I think not.
