To some, it may seem unfair to lay the blame for American Diplomatic failure at the feet of The Secretary of State. After all, isn't America’s Chief Diplomat nothing more than his Masters Voice? However, that office historically has carried its own independent bully pulpit with it.
The Great and Good Secretaries appointed to that high office have always had one thing in mind:
What is in America's Best Interests?
How do I help the President sell it to the American people?
Lastly, how do I put it into motion on the World Stage?
Thomas Jefferson as secretary of State kicked butt with the Barbary Coast Pirates. John Quincy Adams, James Monroe’s secretary, made The Monroe Doctrine a reality so that our adventurous foreign adversaries would stay out of the Western Hemisphere. The Monroe Doctrine made clear that there would be real consequences to any aggressive action in our backyard. I guess this was the first NIMBY rule.
President Lincoln’s Secretary of State, William Seward, finally bought Alaska in 1867 under his disgraced successor, Andrew Johnson, after Lincoln was sadly assassinated. At the time, they called it Seward’s Folly, but it turned out to be America’s triumph.
Who can forget the Marshall Plan? Named in Honor of then-Secretary George Marshall, the man so largely credited with our victory in WWII.
George Shultz, Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of State from July 16, 1982 - January 20, 1989, was largely responsible for both the practical vision and implementation of Reagan's view for the American resurgence as the greatest, strongest nation in the World. Schultz used the Secretary’s perch to create diplomatic consensus with our allies and punish those who failed to act in the best interests of America and World Democracy.
Donald Trump’s man, Mike Pompeo, ardently believed in the necessity of America's leadership for the free world and did everything he could to move America in that direction.
Between the time of George Schultz to Mike Pompeo, all Democrat Appointees to that office have served in a manner inimical to American interests throughout the world.
For the past year, the Office of State has been occupied by career State Department weakling, Antony Blinken. As Chief American Diplomat, Blinken has shown himself to be shamefully apologetic and weak concerning everything related to his strategic representation of American interests.
Blinken forms the prototype of the New Democrat Secretary of State.
The Blinken-type is the “bought and paid for” Chief Diplomatic Officer of America, which has put America up for sale. At times, Blinken will scold the 21st Century Vandals, i.e the Chinese, Russians, Iranian et al. then give them the whole store at a bargain-basement price. Blinken consistency gives firm public support for our always-Ally Israel, then stabbing her in the back at the UN. But why should we be surprised? Blinked loves the murderous Palestinians just like the rest of the Democratic Industrial Complex.
Mr. Secretary, in the eyes of the World you are the face of American weakness, second only to your boss Joe. America, beware of the Blinken-type Secretary of State… As long as we have Democrat Presidents, they and their masters will play lapdog to our adversaries.
Your conduct and performance in office have been a disgrace.
