Misappropriation, of charitable donations based upon donor intent, is no stranger to the Left. In 1992, The Oil Billionaire Bass Brothers bequeathed $20 million dollars to Yale to establish a Western Civilization curriculum. The brothers were concerned that the poison seed of multiculturalism already planted at Yale would flourish and destroy the study of history’s great works of art, science, and culture which are foundational to America and civilization at large.
Of course, the school took the money and ran, promising to install without intent to do so, the curriculum prescribed by their benefactors the Bass brothers. At that time, Yale president Benno C. Schmidt, Jr. was sympathetic to the mission of the Bass Brothers bequest but was overruled by Yale’s deep state America haters. Schmidt was most likely the last Ivy League University President to not to Shepard his academic flock into the fertile hate America fields that we have tragically become accustomed to. The Bass brothers sued, and Yale the Great Ivy became a withering violet under pressure, finally agreeing to return the misappropriated funds.
Tech platform GoFundMe has joined the Left-wing charitable grift game by refusing to turn the $10 million dollars raised during the funding campaign raised on their platform by the Canadian Trucker movement known as the “Freedom Convoy".
The "Convoy" is a movement organized by Truckers protesting the Canadian government’s requirement that all Truckers crossing the U.S. / Canada border into Canada show proof of vaccination.
The American suburb of Canada, just like almost every other group promoting political values that don't align with The American Pravda and their fellow Leftist Fascist Elite, have labeled the Convoy a terrorist movement. This is similar to their U.S. counterparts have labeled Soccer Moms at PTA meetings “violent terrors” by our own Justice Department for their protest of The Marxist Critical Race Theory being forced into their local schools.
GoFundMe received $10 million in donations to have been distributed to a fund to directly benefit Freedom Convoy Truckers. Although, once the Tech platform decided that the Convoy did not fit their political agenda, they refused to distribute the Funds. They then announced that the funds would be distributed to charities of the Truckers subject to GoFundMe’s scrutiny and approval. GoFundMe had taken the money placed in their possession and intended for another use by the donors and steered it to other charities that they deemed acceptable, appropriate, and not sufficiently linked to the stated goals of the Convoy.
Any Convoy donor seeking a refund was required to make a claim by February 19th, 2022, otherwise, GoFundMe would select a funding destination subject to their scrutiny. Only when conservative media brought this misappropriation to light did the “De-fund” me Tech Grifters agree to return the money to the Convoy donors unconditionally.
The actions of GoFundMe, by commandeering funds entrusted for another charitable purpose suiting their radical Leftist political agenda, should make clear that Big Tech exists for the sole and exclusive purpose of controlling every aspect of our lives, most importantly our freedom.
