America is a good country, a great country, and the Best Country in the history of the world; It is the American Way that got us there. It is the American Way combined with America’s God-Given natural resources and geographical assets that have created what has been accurately described as the American Exceptionalism that makes us unique. The American Way is easily defined yet undefinable. Distilled down into its essential elements, the American Way is the philosophy, system, and sacred tradition of individual freedom, personal responsibility, independent thought, innovation, freedom of expression, speech, freedom of religion initiative, meritocracy, blind justice, and capitalism that provide the individual not the guarantee of success, or happiness but the foundation to bring their dreams ambitions and goals to fruition.
The American Way is far more than those critical descriptors. It contains the secret sauce of America's DNA that has been imitated but never duplicated. It is the nation that every person from every oppressed country dreams of emigrating to without the promise of anything but freedom and a fair chance at opportunity. The American Way, even in its imitative form by other nations, has brought immeasurable freedom and prosperity to those who have adopted it in a committed and serious manner. Unbeknownst to themselves and the world, our visionary, energetic, risk-taking, Founding Fathers understood the American Way before there was an America.
They personally risked everything in their revolutionary initiative by breaking from the tyranny and exploitation of the British Crown. Freedom for them was not a checkbook issue, but the essential and indispensable goal. John Hancock, a signatory of the Declaration of Independence and the wealthiest man in Massachusetts at the time, captured the essence regarding the collective risk to his fellow signatories as visible leaders of the revolution when he stated; "We, Mutually Pledge To Each Other Our Lives, Our Fortunes, and Our Sacred Honor". The United States of America, the Nation that freed itself from the tyranny of the most powerful nation in the world became the most powerful nation in the world. But in our creation, the Founding Fathers were not seeking power, they were seeking liberty. It was the transformative power of the American Way that marked the path and set the course for us to be powerful, prosperous, just, and free. We have been a light unto the nations since our inception and before we became powerful simply because we chose, and fought to be free.
Now we must fight to stay free, but in a different way than we have been accustomed to. Historically, our internal grit, strength, and determination formed through our shared traditions, and binding sense of purpose, have given us the wherewithal to fight and defeat our existential foreign enemies. In today's America, our internal enemies, those who hate this country and advocate for marxism, socialism, and other hate America doctrines have enervated our national strength, determination, and ability to compete with the external existential threats of Communist China, and lesser but still lethal foreign adversaries. These internal enemies are determined to destroy our way of life.
The American Way was our North Star, from 1776 to 1964.
1964 was the year that American Academic "Elite" began teaching America to hate itself. Of course, the year 1964 seems arbitrary but history rarely gives us a clear line of demarcation as to when the forces of tectonic change begin. Therefore, we must draw our own point of beginning through reason, observation, and inference. I believe the spark that lit the fire of 1964 occurred on November 22, 1963, with the assassination of JFK. As of November 23rd, 1963 the nation had 24 hours to absorb that shock but was convulsed in a confusion that has lasted since that date.
The year 1964, barely more than one month after the JFK assassination, was the first full year, for which we have a historical record. Here is a sneak preview of the seminal events, forces, and people that gave rise to the culturally institutionalized self-hatred that has been working overtime to destroy The American Way, ever since that time.
The "Gulf of Tonkin, Incident" the lie causing escalated presence in Vietnam
The "Great Society '', which effectively destroyed the nuclear black family with its forced disincentives for marriage, creation of the social service plantation, and starting Black American dependency on government welfare programs, which created a new Great Society Urban Plantation.
Mario Savio and his "Free Speech Movement resulting in the student takeover of the Administration building UC Berkeley.
Mao's "Revolution" resulting in the Communist Murder of millions of Chinese civilians.
The Berkeley takeover that occurred without resistance or protest by the feckless UC Berkeley administration started a prolific new trend of "student takeovers" leading to the legitimization, undermining, and usurping of the duly constituted authority of core American institutions. This led to prison riots, student riots, and a culture that now tolerates what is tantamount to "inmates running the asylum.” Since that time, unhappy students no longer have requests, they make demands.
The rising empire of The National Education Association, although founded in 1857, became the Grand Empire of American Public Education in 1964, as a key player and pillar of "Great Society" with its supply of Democrat political muscle, cash, and a consistently guaranteed Democrat voting block
As a result, local Teachers Unions who are effectively NEA franchisees don't bargain in good faith and are completely unaccountable to the parents, students, and communities that they serve. They unilaterally shut down our schools when their demands are not met. They have destroyed our system of public education through radical indoctrination, custom created for them by "elite" academics for the focused goal of unwinding and destroying our core beliefs, culture, and way of life. Students subject to their rule, most often in poor minority communities even when they graduate, are functionally illiterate without the basic skills to lead any semblance of an independent life.
1964 also gave birth to the formation and/or expansion of myriad Marxist Student movements such as the SDS, bent on the destruction of America.
On the international stage in 1964, the PLO was founded, and with it, Egyptian-born terrorist superstar, Yasser Arafat, the Israel Hating, Jew-hating, America hating, creator of that movement. Arafat also became the terrorist posterboy fashionista. He started the trend of, terrorist chic, wherein every unbathed terrorist in a dirty uniform could call themselves a "freedom fighter". He was the direct lineal descendant of the Cuban “La Révolution” Mass Murderer, Che Guevara, the originator of the terrorist chic dirty outfit to be photographed. Naturally, these two murderers were canonized as patron saints of the "resistance” by America's “Elite” Academics Artists and other "intellectual" flotsam.
Decades and trillions of dollars later, when the “Elite” were asked why the programs of the Great Society / War on Poverty eliminate illiteracy, etc. failed, the stock answer was "systemic racism". Uh-huh! This sampling of highlighted events, forces, movements, developments, and people converged in 1964 and created the beginnings of what came to be known as the counterculture.
Four years later, the year 1968, was arguably the most domestically traumatic year in US history since the Civil War. It was the year of the Tet Offensive, causing the nation to turn against the Vietnam War, concluding that LBJ was lying to the nation about our prospects for victory and the reasons that we were there in the first place.
As an encore, we had the RFK and Martin Luther King assassinations, the Democrat Convention in Chicago, a Pandemic, and mass urban unrest with race riots. After four years, the counterculture was in full bloom. Its visibility permeated every aspect of American life through art, music, politics, and the rioting, violence, and carnage of Vietnam could be seen in every American living room on television. The singular message of the counterculture: That America is rotten to its core, inherently evil and beyond redemption. Tear it down! Rather than saying America has made mistakes, but always has the national goal of doing good in the world and onto ourselves as a free, fair, and aspiringly just society.
57 years after the counterculture was initiated in 1964, it has become the mainstream culture. Tragically, today it is likely that more Americans of a certain age, if asked for their definition of the "American Way" would respond, “Sure that's easy, The American Way is racism, colonialism, homophobia, xenophobia, destruction of the environment, and the greatest evil of all Capitalism!”.
In sadness, I've observed through my discussions and interactions with those not born here, who are either naturalized, or yearning to become American citizens, that they understand America and the American way better than those born to the manor of America, and who take their freedom for granted.
In 2021, one thing is for certain… If the American Atlas that holds up the world's freedom shrugs far enough, there will not be a single free nation left in the world. Churchill spoke of the Iron Curtain coming down over the world in his speech at Fulton Missouri on March 5, 1946. Sickeningly, less than one year after WWII, Winston Churchill, the greatest statesman of the 20th Century, the man who rescued Democracy from Hitler, was criticized for this statement by the leftist "elite" as being a "warmonger". Of course, his characterization of the Soviet totalitarian threat to freedom everywhere proved to be correct. The new existential threat to freedom everywhere will not be an Iron curtain, but a red flag with five yellow stars with junior partner assistance from radical America hating regimes, as required.
There is only one way to resist these internal and existential threats. Our mission must be our dedication to the Restoration of the American Way. We need to educate all of America, that the American Way is the only way forward. The writings of Conservative Clarity will focus on that mission.
