You all know this, but for the purposes of this article, just to change it up, Elephants will be cast as Republicans and Donkeys as Democrats. The thrust of today's exegesis will be the Financial Crime of the Century, and no, it's not Madoff; he holds the record as a private citizen. However, as you are aware, the Government can out-ripoff anyone in the private universe.
The Financial Crime of the Century has been perpetrated by "Higher Education", a legal brand of consumer fraud and arguably extortion that has kept two and a half generations of American citizens in the bondage of indentured servitude. The criminally inflated cost of useless education, in most cases, still has Gen X partially bound in financial shackles. Fortunately for them, they are at least on the verge of digging themselves out due to their earlier and less expensive entrapment in this vicious game. That said, the two generations who are trapped are the Millennials and, now, Gen Z.
America's Colleges and Universities, devoid of any ethics, boundaries, or shame, have created a system in concert with our so-called leaders that has ripped off these generations with no accountability. They have, through word of mouth, blatantly false advertising, and cultural inculcation, sent the message out that a degree from their particular insane asylum will create value in their lives and cement the American dream of prosperity, happiness, and a first-class social credential, i.e., a "college education."
That is the promise. What is the product? A worthless, financially catastrophic albatross that either bankrupts the student, the family, or both. Even those fields where a student has a solid chance of having a meaningful career have burdened young physicians and those in other remunerative jobs and professions with decades of misery before they can get the yoke off their necks.
The blame for this rests squarely on both Donkeys and Elephants, although candidly, the Elephants are mostly to blame. From The Left and their political vices, i.e. the Donkeys, this is what we expect. The Dems exist to tax us to death and transfer our wealth to oblivion, given that their mission is to destroy the American Constitution and replace it with a socialized Marxist system. In other words, we know this and shouldn't expect anything else. But the Elephants? They are supposed to be the elected guardians of Freedom, Democracy, Capitalism, and our Constitutional Republic. Well, guess what? They are not.
No Republican President has lifted a finger to put the reins on these corrupt institutions that have so poisoned the American mind through their intolerance, cultural bias, institutional antisemitism, manifest hatred of Israel, and for the financial destruction of America's rising generations.
Now for the Elephant NOT in the room... The Donkeys have a natural advantage in the arena of capturing the votes of the financially broken younger generations. Without uttering a word on the campaign trail, even the most politically ignorant of younger voters will have a natural affinity for the Donkeys because they are aware that even if it's not a top-tier campaign issue, the Donkeys advocate for student loan forgiveness. While it hasn't been the lightning rod litmus test of the abortion issue, it's always there.
The last time the Elephants won a Presidential Election by winning the popular vote was in 2004, in the Bush/Kerry matchup. While I can articulate in a semi-erudite fashion the constitutional reasoning behind the Electoral College, consistent losses of the popular vote will continue to delegitimize the Elephant President elected by the Electoral College.
Gen X, the Millennials, and now Gen Z, whose financial lives have been limited and, in many cases, destroyed by the criminal debt burden placed upon them by parasitic colleges and universities who knowingly peddle a useful piece of paper dubbed "Degrees," will never vote en masse for a political party that fails to create solutions to their criminal debt burdens.
My idea? As a first step, all Federal and State aid to these hedge funds with classrooms should be removed dollar for dollar from all of them and transferred to the liquidation of student loans for tuition paid in excess of the average rate of inflation for the last three decades. This would not be forgiveness for students paying for their education. It would be disgorgement of the obscenely rapacious cost of worthlessness that these rotted institutions have visited upon America, destroying the future for millions.
As for the Elephant NOT in the room, you'd better open the door and get in there quickly; otherwise, you will never win the popular vote again… As for the Electoral College? Don't count on it; it will be eliminated.
Now a question: If a Donkey is otherwise know as an “ass”, what’s the aka for a useless Elephant???
