"CRIME DOESN'T PAY" WAS THE AMERICAN WAY... AT LEAST THAT WAS ONCE WHAT WE COULD TELL OUR CHILDREN WITH SOME CREDIBILITY
Vol. I | Issue. 36 | October 14, 2021
The old aphorism "Crime Doesn’t Pay" was once a lesson that we could teach our children to pass along to future generations like a family heirloom. Naturally, our society and nation had been fraught with crime and criminals since its founding days. However, there was once the notion, until about five minutes ago, that crimes against persons and property were generally agreed to be objectively wrong.
Whether you were right, left, up, or down politically; murder, robbery, and theft (both violent and nonviolent) were deemed punishable offenses against both the individual victims and society. This consensus is necessary and proper to protect the existential foundation of America and its citizenry at every level.
This national consensus that crime is wrong and that criminals should do the time no longer exists. The sickness of identity politics, moral relativism, and sick “progressivism” have invaded and destroyed the notion that there is no objective definition of crime. The crimes have been defined and enumerated as crimes since biblical times, but not anymore.
During the nightmarish Summer of 2020, public statements were made by BLM spokesmen that the mass looting and destruction of property was justified on the basis that the stolen and the destroyed property was actually theirs to filch and burn.
How so do you ask?
The announced justifications were that the stolen property was recompense for the fact that white patriarchal racist America had produced, acquired, and created all of the stolen booty on the backs of their ancestors, hence it wasn’t theft, but owed to them as just compensation.
With the support of The American Pravda, America has been intimidated into believing that the destruction and theft of private property are the proper and logical entitlement of those claiming to be deserving of revenge, compensation, or both for the generation of wrongful treatment by America regarding "people of color".
In many cities, violent crimes of every nature are not being prosecuted or even considered to be criminal acts. Kim Foxx, Chicago Cook County prosecutor, recently elected to not prosecute any of the "participants' in a mass shooting in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, calling it 'mutual combat'.
In San Francisco, 17 Walgreen stores have been permanently closed due to unprosecuted theft resulting in loss of business making continued operations effectively impossible. Under California law, any miscreant may walk steal an amount of up to $950.00 without any more potential legal consequence than a traffic ticket. Even then no gendarme will show up to make an arrest or give the criminal a ticket.
“Progressive” prosecutors bent on the destruction of America have been financed by George Soros and others of his ilk. They are bought and paid for as prosecutors not to prosecute and they do their jobs very well. While crime waves in America’s big cities are not new, there is something here that is destructively novel. That is murder, theft robbery and myriad other crimes are no longer being prosecuted.
Essentially, the spiking wave of criminality exists primarily in places north of the Mason Dixon line, east of the Mississippi, California, and "progressive” cities wherever they exist. However, just like any other cancer, it will metastasize and destroy the foundation of our ability to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... as is The American Way. The basic function of government is to do for its citizens what they cannot do for themselves. Citizens cannot protect themselves without effective policing and a criminal justice system whose primary priority is their safety and security.
If someone can walk into a Walgreens store and steal $949.99 without consequence, what can they take from you? More importantly, what can our elected officials who countenance this take from you? Simple answer, nothing less than your freedom. Think about it…
