GOOD MORNING AMERICA IT'S 1983.5 AND ALMOST A BRAVE NEW WORLD!
Vol. I | Issue. 12 | July 19, 2021
Brave New World, authored by Aldous Huxley (1932), and 1984, penned by Huxley’s one-time student and self-styled "Democratic Socialist" George Orwell (1947). Each portrays the dystopian horror of how Huxley and Orwell saw the future of human governance and social organization. Brave New World derived its ultimate authority and effectiveness through the imposition of endless pleasure, and 1984 through the incessant prosecution of hate and pain.
Huxley (1899-1963) was a prolific author of 50 books during his lifetime, in addition to several others that were published posthumously. In 1932, when he penned Brave New World:
The Great Depression had the World in a death grip.
FDR was “elected” but had not yet taken office.
Hitler was one year away from being “elected” to the Nazi Chancellory of the Third Reich.
Stalin’s collectivization policies resulting in starvation and mass murder giving rise to an even more (if possible) murderously repressive police state were exposed.
Everyone at that time from the man on the street to the demagogues and legitimate leaders on the world stage was looking for answers and solutions, trying to concoct or formulate them, or both.
The two universal questions were:
How are we going to feed ourselves?
How is our society to be organized and governed?
In 1932, Huxley in Brave New World articulated his vision of the future.
Most “elites” blamed the excesses of capitalism for the depression, Huxley was no exception. However, he had worshipful respect for Henry Ford, the quintessential capitalist, based upon Ford's invention of the assembly line and his creation of the mass consumer society. His deification for Ford was so complete that Ford was referred to as ‘Our Ford’ as in ‘Our Lord’ throughout the text.
Huxley's vision in Brave New World for world governance was in the mass production of pleasure rather than pain. With this vision, Huxley postulated that the most elemental product to this Brave New World was to be the assembly line of human life.
His operative theory was that if you could fuse modern genetic science with post-birth programming through human life produced in "hatcheries" (i.e. the human assembly line) that you could create the perfect society.
Once life was created and shepherded through its early stages, you could construct the perfect human being, freed from the complexities and disruptive influences of independent thinking. In Huxley’s Brave New World, through social conformity and the inducement of material hedonism, there will be no rough edges for the government to contend with or be challenged by.
Huxley postulated that if subjected to limitless pleasure, such as governmentally sanctioned "free love" and other hedonistic treats without attachment to any person or thing, anything except the state, that society and its individual members would stay in their lane without dissent or social disruption.
It wasn't all fun and games, however… In Brave New World, society was completely controlled by the Government through its endless bureaus, perversions of language, extreme sanctions (The Original Cancel Culture) for dissent in straying from the party line or engaging in prohibited conduct. Does this sound familiar?
Huxley wasn't worried about censorship with his Brave New World Vision. He postulated that if offered pleasure options and pleasing conformity, there would be no need for censorship or book burning because people simply wouldn't care or read anything of substance as long as they were entertained. Does this sound familiar??
He believed that hedonism combined with the constant bombardment of information would render people so indifferent to the absorption of information that they would simply stop caring.
Who wants to read anything of consequence if we can watch Netflix and Chill?!
Now cometh Orwell (1903-1950) and 1984.
By 1949 the world had seen the horrors of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao. At that time, Stalin had the atom bomb for three years, Mao had won the Chinese Civil War and The Communist Totalitarian model of governance was on the march.
After, Hitler’s reign of murderous genocide, Stalin’s continued reign of terror, and the brutality of Communist China's ascent the 1984 model of Orwellian brutality seemed to direct the dark, ugly path for the future.
In 1984, we are introduced to "Big Brother" the omnipresent, omniscient leader of mandatory worship. The "Bureau of Love” is really the Institute of Torture. The language was rewritten every second of every day, history was eliminated or erased to suit the needs of culturally enforced conformity, and there was constant surveillance of thought speech, and expression.
And by the way who was Emanuel Goldstein in 1984?
Emanuel Goldstein, in 1984 is the principal Enemy of the State! Do a think he is supposed to be a Jew? Nah, neither was Moses, right?
Were 1984 written in 2021, the HAHI’s would have likely replaced Emanuel Goldstein with Benjamin Netanyahu or his recent successor, Naftali Bennett, who will likely soon earn their hatred as an Enemy of the State.
America is at a critical juncture, should we abandon our interest and passion for the American Way, we will move towards some form of a totalitarian state which either mimics the Huxley model in Brave New World, or the Orwellian architecture of 1984.
Will America choose Netflix, legalized marijuana, and other fun stuff? Or will it be something externally imposed upon us with even more brutality by China and Big Tech?
Let’s all find a passion in working together to make certain that neither of these comes to fruition. In that regard, take every action that you can, large or small to protect our way of life which is the American Way.
To that end, never fail to make your voice heard!
