JULY 4 1776: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA, MOM, THE FLAG, & APPLE PIE
Vol. I | Issue. 8 | July 1, 2021
America's birthday is July 4, 1776. That is the year we were born, Happy 245th!
America was born that year with our original 13 Colonies in which we declared ourselves independent and free from England, then the world's most powerful nation.
Every prior year in human history was gestational in giving rise to the birth of America. Gestation is defined as the process or period of development inside the womb between conception and birth. That multi-millennial gestation period slowly and painfully delivered humanity from cave-dwelling primitive human organization to the birth of America.
It is no coincidence that America was born during the Enlightenment, the period of explosive innovation and development in science, philosophy, the arts, and every other realm of endeavor focused on the enhancement of the human condition. It took all the energy, genius, and personal courage of our Founding Fathers to deliver the baby, but on July 4th, 1776, they did, and this weekend we turn 245 years old.
Not so, according to the America hating left. By their twisted, new reckoning with its phony scholarship, America was born in 1619 on a rotted foundation.
The left's hate for America is nothing new, but the danger now is that after evolving institutionally since 1964, See The American Way, their hatred has invaded and is now polluting most of our schools and foundational institutions through government fiat and the slavish acquiescence of big business and the media.
It has become sickeningly controversial to display symbols of patriotism in almost every corner of American life. In some cases, displaying the American flag has become sanctionable, but symbols are important. In fact, symbols are so powerful that second to calling Americans racists, flag burning is the America hater’s #1 favorite pastime. They also love spitting on the flag, stomping on the flag, and when their supply runs out, they grab their stash of Israeli flags gleefully repeating the same orgy.
As we all know, they aren't alone in their profound hatred of America. They share this orgiastic Nirvana, with virtually every one of their foreign counterpart America haters.
I often wonder, where do all of those flags come from? In today's America, there are more flags burning, than there are flying. We need to change that immediately.
Now let's get back to the importance of symbols. U.S Supreme Court Justice and former Civil War General, Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, once wrote:
“We live by symbols, and what shall be symbolized by any image of sight depends on the mind of the person who sees it".
To those in trouble and seeking refuge from abroad, the American flag is a symbol of hope. To those who hate America, the American flag is a symbol of hate.
The America hating left is insightful in one regard; They know the power of our American symbols to impact people’s hearts, minds, and ultimately action. That is why they do everything that they can to destroy every vestige of American patriotism symbolically, physically, and intellectually.
In 1976, Esquire Magazine published "MOM, THE FLAG, & APPLE PIE”, a compilation showcasing the writings of popular Esquire authors, which were reflective of their feelings about America and American life at that moment in time.
Naturally, during that period, those reflections were often critical, but never hateful. The book title gave rise to "MOM, THE FLAG, & APPLE PIE" as a dismissive elite catchphrase for any patriotic expression or feeling. Every professor with a pipe, badly patched corduroy sleeve jacket, and unkempt beard would chide a student who showed any sign or utterance of patriotism.
“Does your family fly a flag on the fourth of July? That's just mom, the flag, and apple pie crap… Your dad fought in WWII? For what? To make the world safe for Democracy?… Democracy in America is a myth, don't give me any of this ‘MOM, THE FLAG, & APPLE PIE’ crap, America is no better than the Soviet Union or Communist China!”
The Fourth of July is a day to remember how important it is to value, display, and uphold our national symbols because they have depth and meaning.
There is a broader endgame to the hate America strategy… That is, if you destroy the symbols, history, and culture of America, it will destroy the America that was born in 1776, and replace it with the one that was born in 1619.
Have a happy, healthy, and safe Fourth of July, and fly your flag.
If you don't have an American flag, buy one, and fly it proudly. Tell your Mother you love her if she is still here, and remember her if she isn't. Don’t forget to enjoy a piece of apple pie, even if it isn’t gluten-free.
I’m asking each and every one of you to keep the 1619 project out of your local schools, that would be a great first step towards the Restoration of The American Way.
Always remember… America's birthday is July 4, 1776.
