The term "STAR CHAMBER" refers colloquially to any secret or closed meeting held by a judicial or executive body or kangaroo court proceeding that is grossly unfair and is used to persecute an individual by the powers that be.
The Star Chamber originated in England during the middle ages and was reconfigured in 1487 under King Henry VII. It was used to prosecute (mostly persecute) those whom the Crown, didn’t want to risk the uncertainty of outcome that existed with a fair trial conducted by the Common Law Courts.
The Star Chamber offered to the powers that were seeking prosecution a sure thing making certain that their horse came in. Essentially it was the identical formula used by Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts when she stated "First the Verdict, Then The Trial.”
There is no better example of The American Star Chamber in existence today than those mechanisms in place that prosecute non-conforming, unpopular speech throughout institutional America. By "institutional" I mean the universe of human organizations that make America tick. Those organizations are comprised of Academia, the entire system of public education, virtually every commercial enterprise of scale, government, media, and most public spaces.
The Star Chamber was called such because the hearings were held in a room with stars on the ceiling. How quaint it must have been to have only one room in the realm designated for such dastardly proceedings. But as with everything else, time creates change. Now there are "Star Chambers'' throughout our land.
The American Star Chamber, as broadly construed, is the process by which those with unpopular political views, unproven and unprovable sexual harassment allegations, as well as unproven claims of all “isms”, which are the sacred cows of the required progressive American Conformist diktats… Conservatives need not apply or ever express themselves unless their application is for severe punishment.
The American Star Chamber made its earliest appearances on our college campuses in the late 1980s and was most commonly convened for the purpose of enforcing campus "politically correct” “speech codes" against students who breached them. While the Courts have generally overruled speech codes on college campuses, their rulings have been tepid and largely on the grounds that they are too broad and discriminate against certain viewpoints.
However, they have been upheld in cases where such “codes” were enacted to prevent "hostile environments".
The term "hostile environment" has become the Left’s Rosetta Stone for the enactment and enforcement of speech codes, not only on college campuses but broadly through the institutions and spaces earlier mentioned in this article.
There is now an unofficially official behavioral, linguistic and political set of manners in America today that if breached are punishable by The American Star Chamber in the most draconian ways.
Those punishments include firing, loss of tenure for the 5% of American professors who are conservative, social cancellation, business boycotts and expulsion from academic institutions, social isolation, and termination of employment.
The American Star Chamber enforcers exist in many forms, from HR departments to Kangaroo Court assemblies, to one-person execution squads empowered to decide the fate of the accused transgressor.
The catch-all term triggering and empowering The American Star Chamber to action is whether the accused has created a "hostile environment" in the employment context is defined as "unwelcome conduct or harassment based on race, sex, pregnancy, religion, national origin, age disability, or genetics.” This term has been co-opted and broadly expanded to apply to almost every space in American Life.
As a result, those holding political views that are inconsistent with progressive political social agendas, as promoted by The Democrat Industrial Complex, may not express them anywhere in the workplace or in any other space they can be monitored and punitively adjudicated whether in public view or, at times, even in private settings.
Unlike the English Star Chamber of yesteryear, The American Star Chamber sees and hears everything we say and follows us everywhere we go. It is not a piece of real estate or limited to defined geography and is without a Statute of Limitations.
If you were alive in 1965 and said something back then that offends The American Star Chamber today, they will find you, unless of course, you were Joe Biden speaking at Strom Thurmond’s memorial service… Joe got a pass on that one from The American Pravda.
The English Star Chamber lasted for several hundred years before being abolished. As for The American Star Chamber… It’s life expectancy remains to be seen.
One thing is for certain, Due Process and Free Speech are The American Way, and we are precipitously close to losing them…
